An Accenture event organized in partnership with Techsylvania

Change4Impact represents a hybrid four-day event that explores the latest thinking around sustainability from a technology and industry perspective.

This one-of-a-kind experience, taking place simultaneously in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and online, is organized by Accenture in partnership with Techsylvania. The event will bring you different inspiration moments through our unique Conference line up, and then challenges you to co-create a sustainable future though a major Hackathon.

You can opt in for the full Change 4 Impact experience or join either the conference or the hackathon. The participation fee will be donated to our partner organization, Transylmagica, to support them in their tree planting efforts. Attending the Conference and/or Hackathon, you will help make a direct climate impact by reducing carbon emissions.

Join our 36 -hour hackathon in a team of 3-5 members.

We’ll have two physical locations – Bucharest & Cluj Napoca. Your team can opt for one of them, or for a mix between online and offline. Details in the Regulation below. Work with your team and our mentors to develop inventive solutions for one of our two topics: Social Sustainability and Environment Sustainability.

We are looking for diverse people who want to contribute to a better future. Whether you are developer, an engineer, a coder, a tech enthusiast, an activist or a student looking for some practical experience in solving real issues, everyone is welcome to participate. Build your dream team and explore solutions together!

It’s easy, you just need to click on the “Hackathon registration” button and fill the registration form. Note that the participation fee will be donated to our partner association Transylmagica.

It’s simple, just follow these steps:
1. Form your team and start brainstorming on your idea and pitch!
2. Register your team for the Hackathon until May 25th
3. Take part in our Conference on May 26th (in Bucharest or Cluj-Napoca) gather knowledge and let
yourself be inspired
4. On May 27th at 8 p.m. it’s hacking time! You’ll have 36 hours to hack on your idea together with
your team. You may consult with mentors for coaching and support that can improve your idea.
5. Submit your pitch until May 29th, at 8:00 AM
6. Submitted pitches will be evaluated by the jury.
7. On May 29th, the teams will present their idea and the winners will be announced

1. Your team must submit on May 29th until 8 A.M.:

1.1. A presentation outlining the solution: (template will also be provided)
o Executive summary: One slide summarizing the below content o Team introduction
o Challenge & solution statement
o The technology used in the solution
o Areas of applicability
o High-level business case: How will you operate your business and create value
(costs vs income)?
o Business plan: What activities and resources are required to launch your
solution? What is the timeline?

2. Your team will have to prepare for the presentation:
2.1. A verbal elevator pitch of 1 minutes (prepared to be delivered in final event)
2.2. A video containing a technical demo of 5 minutes

The hackathon will start on the 27th of May at 08:00 PM and will last for 36 hours so that you and your team will have sufficient time to prepare and work on your concept.

To be eligible for the hackathon, your team should have between 3 and 5 members.

Your team will have 1 minute for pitch and 5 minutes for demo presentation. Remember, both of them are important for the judges!

It’s simple – based on the awesomeness of the project and at the end of the Hackathon, you will have to prove that your technical prototype is built to solve real-world problem and can be implemented. Each member of the jury will evaluate your project based on the following 6 criteria, each one having a different score between 10-25 points with the maximum number being 100 points:
Innovation (20 points)
Technical execution (15 points)
Functionality (20 points)
Pitch (10 points)
Business plan (10 points)
Social or environmental impact (25 points)

Apart from the knowledge and networking benefits, your team will have the chance to win from the 9500 euro prize pool! There will be three winning teams with three different prizes:
The first Prize – 6000 euro
The second Prize – 2,000 euro
The third Prize – 1,500 euro

We will be waiting for you in our locations with the necessary Wi-Fi and charging. Power as well as food and beverages for those who want to participate online we will provide food vouchers.

All your normal coding/designing gear, and any hardware you want to hack on. You might want to bring an Internet tethering device just in case the network gets busy.

The hackathon will take place both online and on-site in Bucharest (Accenture Office) and Cluj-Napoca (The Office).
